Now that summer has ended and new fall items have arrived in every store imaginable, I have found a lot of really cute things made their way into my fall wish list!Β With these new arrivals, came new trends that I am seeing popping up everywhere. While I’m not one toΒ jump on the bandwagon for every single new trend that arises, I do definitely like to experiment with the ones that interest me. π
Here are a few 2016Β Fall Trends that I will be trying… click the arrows to see more shoppable items!
Chokers
I thought it was so funny that this trend came back after remembering how much I loved chokers in junior high and high school. I used to buy black ribbon of different widths and cut a new “choker” to tie on my neck nearly every day. Very Kristin Cavallari in her Laguna Beach era, am I right? Although I won’t be wearing the stretchy tattoo chokers again or purchasing another roll of black ribbon, I am really loving the new ones I have seen. Specifically, the long suede ones that almost look like a hat string. So cute! The basic blackΒ chokers look really great layered with longer necklaces too.
Peep Toe Booties
Peep-toe booties aren’tΒ exactlyΒ a new and daringΒ trend, but they are especially raved about this season!Β I really love the look of them. They are also great for transitioning into fall with! I just picked up these in gray, andΒ I. Am. Obsessed!Β They are super comfy,Β whichΒ I was happily surprised & impressedΒ with (considering the heel height)!Β Β And, the quality is fantastic. I am going to get a ton of mileage out of these babies!
Double Buckle Belts
These belts are all the rage, especially for those who go for edgy, boho looks. They are a bit bold, even for me, but they areΒ definitely growing on me!Β I was actually browsing looks with them on Pinterest yesterday and searching for similar B-Low the Belt dupes online. B-Low the Belt isΒ known as the mainΒ brand/sourceΒ ofΒ this style belt and where the trend came from.Β I prefer not to spend too much on funΒ trends that I know I probably won’t be wearing a whole lot!
Raw-Hemmed Denim
Raw-hemmed denim seemed a bit strange to me, but they have a way of looking very effortlessly chic. If you are good with a pair of scissors and/or into DIY, try this trend out on an old pair of skinny jeans that you already have hanging in your closet! I followed this tutorial on an old pair of mine, and they turned out well!
Bell Sleeves
Okay, I initially hated this trend when I saw it coming back. It was a little too 70’s and obnoxious to me… but now I am starting to like the subtle bell sleeves on tops. Subtle being key. Haha. π I linked up the ones that I fancy!
Bomber Jackets
These jackets are sporty and chic, while looking warm, comfortable and practical.
Flared Jeans
Flared jeans and bell bottoms are back, too! So many 70’s inspired trends making their comeback!
Lace-up TopsΒ & Flats
Alright, this one is no surprise… I am all about this trend, and have already been wearing lace-up everything since this past spring! If you haven’t experimented with it yet, now is definitely the time. It looks like this trend isn’t leaving anytime soon, and you can find lace-up tops & flats pretty much anywhere these days!
This week has been flying by, but no complaints here! It definitely helped having Monday off. This weekend will be pretty laid back for us. We are going to have some friends over for the football opener on SundayΒ (hello, buffalo chicken dip!), and probably celebrating our anniversary earlier in the weekend.Β Thomas and I will be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary, which actually lands on Monday, hence while we will be using the weekend to celebrate it instead!Β I can’t believe that it has already been a wholeΒ year since we said our I do’s. It’s been so wonderful being his wife, and I can’t wait for what our future years of marriage hold. π
Anyway, happy Friday-eve! I hope you have an awesome end to your week!
xx, Taylor
